Juan Carlos has apparently slept with 1,500 women

Rumours abound about him having seduced Lady Diana

King of Spain Juan Carlos announced his abdication on Monday, which paved the way for his son’s ascendance to the throne.

However, King Juan, who ascended to the throne in 1975, succeeding dictator Franco, has a highly “lively” past, according to some authors.

According to author Pilar Eyre, more than 1,500 women had been bedded by Juan Carlos, including Princess Diana!

The “spicy” details of Juan Carlos’ life point out that he had not slept with his wife for the last 35 years. The reason, according to Pilar Eyre, was that the King’s infidelities made her furious.

The author states that the romance between Juan Carlos and Diana began in 1986 in Mallorca.

Members of the Spanish royal family had invited Charles and Diana for a vacation. The rumours concerning the King and Lady were rife even back then. She, of course, denied that anything had happened between them, but had stated that the king was “charming” and that he could be “a little too cautious”.

Pilar Eyre says that it was common knowledge in Madrid that Juan Carlos was a glutonous enthusiastic womanizer and that the only women he never seemed to spend any time with was his wife, Sophia.

In 2012, it became known that the couple had been sleeping in separate beds for 35 years. according to Eyre’s book, Sophia’s “humiliation” began a few months after Juan Carlos became king.

A “guys only” vacation to Toledo, as he characterized it to Sophia, was the beginning of the couple’s marital problems.

However, Sophia decided to take their children and pay him a surprise visit, where he discovered her husband with a Spanish cinema starlet.

However, the King continued to live a life surrounded by women.

During his trip to Botswana two years ago, Juan Carlos was apparently hunting something more than elephants. Princess Corinna zu Sayn-Wittgenstein seems to have been accompanying him to the safari, reinforcing the rumours that saw them having an affair for many years.

‘La Stampa’ had headlined that “Spain has two queens”, back then, referring to the Botswana trip. The publication mentioned that the couple had met in 2006 during an event in honour of the King held in Corinna’s hometown.
