The Tourism Ministry has issued a draft bill which will become the basis for the creation of youth hostels in Greece. Youth hostels are popular on a worldwide basis, and especially in Europe, since they attract young travelers under 26, who seek cheaper accomodations.

The hostels will be able to receive students, teachers, professors, visiting professors and visiting scholars. The aforementioned services will operate under the same legislation already applicable for all tourism accommodations in Greece.
