Turkish aircraft violate Greek airspace 39 times – Two dog fights ensue with Greek fighters

All aggressor aircraft were intercepted by the Hellenic Air Force

The Turkish Air Force committed 39 violations of the Greek national airspace on Wednesday.

Fifteen Turkish aircraft flew over the Aegean today, 11 F-16 fighters, three CN-235 spy planes, and a helicopter.

It is worth noting that two Turkish fighters flew armed and in two cases the violations turned into dog fights with the Greek surveillance aircraft.

Turkish aircraft operated in the North-East, Central, and South-East Aegean and committed nine air traffic infringements in the Athens FIR.

As reported by the Hellenic National Defence General Staff (HNDGS), the Turkish aircraft were identified and intercepted in accordance with international rules, according to standard practice.
