US: ISIS did not shoot down the Jordanian fighter jet

The pilot, however, is -indeed- being held hostage

The US military announced on Wednesday that evidence shows that ISIS did not shoot down the Jordanian fighter jet that crashed in Syria today, whose pilot is held hostage by the terrorist organization.

“Data clearly shows that ISIS did not shoot down the aircraft, as is claimed by the terrorist organization”, said Centcom.

A US official who wished to remain anonymous stated earlier that the US is not able to tell whether the fighter jet was shot down or if the crash was due to mechanical failure.

Nevertheless, Lloyd Austin, head of Centcom, confirmed the statement that the Jordanian pilot is being held hostage.
