Russia sends France a puppy

The death of Diesel, the heroic dog who died in the France during the anti-terrorism police raids at Saint Denis, has melted the hearts of men and women from around the world. The dog died after entering an apartment to check the threat level inside and prompted an outpouring of grief on social media.

The Russian government was also moved by the tragic loss of the French police force. On behalf of Russian President Vladimir Putin and all Russian people, Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs sent Dobrynya in a show of solidarity with Paris.

In a letter posted on the ministry’s Facebook page, Russian Internal Affairs Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsez wrote to his French counterpart Bernard Cazeneuve, offering the young canine as “confirmation of our solidarity with the French police in these troubled days”.

Though still a pup, Dobrynya will hopefully grow up to be an important member of the French police force.
