After 72 year of broadcasts, the Greek Service of the Voice of America will end its operation.
The final broadcast will be on Tuesday morning via Greek Skai.
According to gr.voanews.com, the Greek service will end broadcasts as a result of budget cuts at the American news agency.
The Greek service was one of the first services of the Voice of America, which begun broadcasting in 1942.
The service has since covered many important international and US developments in relation to Greece and Cyprus.
Voice of America (VOA) is the official external broadcast institution of the United States federal government.
