Sinister porn app takes secret compromising photos and blackmails people

A malicious porn app that uses alluring images to coax users into downloading it takes over their phones and then starts snapping photos of users with the front-facing camera. Following this, the users are blackmailed into paying up a ransom of $500 to obtain the secretly-taken photo.

Security firm Zscaler discovered the scam. The ransome message kept the phone switched on at all times and made it impossible for users to remove. Zscaler cautioned users to only download apps from trusted app stores.
