Young adults lose their virginity in new MTV reality show!

Some of them are hanging on to their virginity and others are desperately trying to lose it!

MTV’s new reality show ‘Virgin Territory’ that premiered yesterday is pushing the reality TV boundaries by exploring the extremely sensitive subject of virginity.

The show focuses on the real-life stories of 15 post high-school virgins, all between the ages of 18 to 23, as they face one of the most complicated decisions of their young lives: whether to have sex or not.

“Some of them are hanging on to their virginity and others are desperately trying to lose it,” a description of the show on MTV’s website explains.

The show features young adults who talk openly about their concerns regarding sex and the problems they face with the opposite sex: their unstable relationships, their embarrassment to discuss their virginity with their sexually active friends and also the pressure to give in to their impulses.

“MTV has a legacy of documenting the lives of young adults and openly talking about sex with thought-provoking programming such as ‘True Life,’ ‘16 and Pregnant’ and ‘Teen Mom,’” said Lauren Dolgen, EVP Series Development & Head West Coast Unscripted for MTV, adding that “through its ongoing partnership with the National Campaign to Prevent Teen and Unplanned Pregnancy, MTV will continue this tradition by elevating the discussion of responsible sexual health to include the topic of virginity in a way that our audience might find surprising.”
