No sooner was the Sphinx head excavated in the third chamber that the imagination of Amphipolis enthusiasts was fuelled. Some were inspired to start calculating, drawing illustrations, creating computer programs all dedicated to this new discovery.

Panaiotis Kruklidis, an Italian blogger, has created a display for his blog, titled “Il taccuino di Pan”.
Math
Another blog did the math and informed lead archaeologist at the Kasta tumulus, Katerina Peristeri, that the figures don’t add up. Tthe blog hellenes-romaion did its own research and found that it would be impossible to squeeze the head onto the Sphinx without bumping into the arched roof, informing the public at large that the head found in the third chamber no doubt belongs to another sculpture soon to be revealed.
