This is the chilling final selfie of a suspected terrorist posing in front of a car similar to that used in the motorway rampage in Berlin last night.
Six people were injured, three of them seriously, when Sarmad A allegedly ploughed his Opel Astra into a number of vehicles along a stretch of the German capital’s motorway.
Around three hours before, 30-year-old suspect Sarmad A posted an image on Facebook of him posing alongside a black Opel Astra.
He also wrote a brief caption alongside the image praising God.
The rampage saw two motorcyclists hit at roughly 6.35pm local time before the attacker stopped his car, got out and shouted “Allahu akbar”, according to Germany’s Bild newspaper.
Sarmad A also allegedly placed a metal box on his car roof and shouted “Nobody comes closer, otherwise you will all die”.
Berlin’s senator for the interior, Andreas Geisel said investigators “assume this was an Islamist-motivated attack”
Martin Steltner, a spokesman for the prosecutor’s office, said: “The man is suspected of having deliberately hunted down motorcycles.”
Pictures from the scene show the wrecked car on the motorway with investigators scouring the scene for clues.
