Boutaris on Amphipolis: Waiting for Alexandros the Great to pop round the corner

The Mayor of Thessaloniki speaks of “atrocities” and “fairytale drama”

On Tuesday the Mayor of Thessaloniki Yiannis Boutaris expressed his annoyance for the way the case of excavations at Amphipolis is handled.

Further Mr. Boutaris characterized all actions so far as “atrocities” that must end immediately.

Finally, the mayor noted that he would have no problem if Amphipolis was to become the center of the world, however he does not like “superficiality” in managing the situation and added that he does not want the issue to become a  “fairytale drama”.

“This atrocity must end. We are waiting for Alexander the Great to pop round the corner and we cause confusion to the archeologist who is trying to do her job”, concluded the mayor of Thessaloniki.
