Many vehicles got stuck in Athens – Thessaloniki highway at Raches, Phthiotis since the road has been blocked due to snow, as readers of protothema.gr mentioned.
Greek authorities finally managed to restore the flow of traffic putting an end to the ordeal of hundreds of families which were trapped at the national highway.
After several hours, finally the cars which were stuck on the highway were directed onto side roads which were cleared by snow so as to continue their journey.
Also, Fthiotida police has banned the movement of trucks and other heavy vehicles.
Earlier, as the readers of protothema.gr mentioned, the passengers had been waiting for hours in their vehicles, while authorities hadn’t proceeded to any actions to open the road at that moment.
