Dritsas: Failing to find a European solution, refugees and immigrants will be scattered all over Greece

Τhe best way to deal with the refugee flow is to equally distribute the refugees across the country, he said

Shipping and Island Policy Minister Theodoros Dritsas told SKAI TV that the government is planning to send refugees and immigrants all over the country, if European Union fails to find a common solution to stem refugee flow.

“If there is no European solution, the best way to deal with the refugee flow without putting an end to our diplomatic efforts is to equally distribute the refugees across the country,” Mr. Dritsas said.

“It is possible to manage the flow of refugees and immigrants in cooperation with local communities in northern Greece” he said referring to the example of the city of Kavala, northern Greece, which has received many refugees and immigrants over the last few days, as it did last summer.

As he said, the fact that the Greek islands are overwhelmed with refugees reaching 6,000 people constitutes a “regular and normal management.”
