EU Commissioner C. Cretu meets with A. Tsipras: 2 bln euros benchmarked for Greece

EU Commissioner C. Cretu is in Athens to discuss EU funds for Greece

Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras received EU Regional Policy Commissioner Corina Cretu on Tuesday. He thanked her for her efforts regarding Greece and noted that the government will try to efficiently use important EU funds for the Greek economy.

Cretu said that Tuesday is a very important day for Greece, bearing in mind that the European Parliament will vote for extraordinary measures for Greece following proposal by the European Commission to help Greece deal with its liquidity problem with increased EU funding. She said that her meeting with Tsipras was fruitful.

She called on Tsipras to implement measures required as quickly as possible and said that 2 billion euros are benchmarked for Greece.
