FinMin Hardouvelis: Troika must return asap to Athens

PM Samaras and FinMin Hardouvelis discussed Monday’s Eurogroup

Prime Minister Antonis Samaras met on Saturday with Finance Minister Gikas Hardouvelis in order to discuss the latter’s participation in a Eurogroup meeting scheduled for Monday, one day after the country’s general elections.

After the conclusion of the meeting at Maximos Mansion, the official seat of the PM, Mr. Hardouvelis told the press that the ECB’s decision for quantitative easing was positive for Greece.

However, the FinMin added that “the troika (of Greece’s international lenders) must come to Athens as soon as possible” to conclude the evaluation of Greece’s progress and resume the negotiations.
