Greek Eurovision finalist ignores negative press (video)

The Greek contestant refuses to be drawn into confrontation and keeps her eyes steadily on Vienna

Maria-Elena Kyriakou, this year’s Eurovision finalist for Greece, is getting ready to head to Vienna for the 60th Eurovision Song Contest. She appeared on the program #Hashtag and said that she was afraid of losing out to Thomais Apergis entry, because it was clearly more “Greek”, i.e. the lyrics.

Moreover, the singer from Cyprus said she is not going to concern herself with negative comments about her song and performance. “A lot has been said about me, but I laugh. These comments are made on purpose to make me pay attention. It’s like when children are naughty to make us notice them,” she said, adding that she only keeps the positive and moves on.
