Greek PM Alexis Tsipras presented some of his party’s plans to boost employment and support young people, during his address of SYRIZA’s 1st Youth Conference, Thursday night. Mr. Tsipras outlined a plan that included rent subsidies, the utilisation of public buildings to house young people, as well as the creation of “tens, hundreds” of child care centres to support young couples. The Greek PM also made reference to his government’s achievements like the same sex civil partnerships, adding that his government was faced with an extraordinary high rate of unemployment at 27% in January 2015, which he managed to cut by 4 points. “We are waging a battle to restore employment rights”, he stressed.
