Greek police disband one of the largest drug cartels

Seize drugs worth 1.5mln Euros on Zakynthos

The Greek Police Narcotics units in Attica has arrested 15 people, disbanding one the largest drug trafficking rings in Europe. The criminal organisation, which was based in Albania and operated in Greece and 5 other European countries, smuggled 700 kilos of Marijuana into Greece with speedboats and hid it on the beach of Zakynthos. The drugs, worth over 1.5mln Euros, were planned to be shipped to Oslo, Norway after being processed. The ring was very organised with a well defined hierarchy, structure roles for each member, according to the Greek police. The Greek Police narcotics unit had been on the heels of the cartel for the past 10m months.
