The Greek national water polo team has advanced to the final 8 in the Rio 2016 Olympic water polo competition after defeating hosts Brazil 9-4. The defence was instrumental in the win after holding the Brazilians to only 4 goals in the match. Currently Greece tops the group with 6 points, the same as Brazil, and if they win Australia (3 points) in their final Sunday match they will do through a first to the quarter finals.
