A million private sector workers get paid five months late, whereas a million private sector workers (45%) get wages beneath 751 euros per month. Ta Nea newspaper’s study shows that in 2012 only 17% of the workforce received wages under this amount. 1,400 work contracts signed in 2012 were reduced from 10-40%. Greater still were the wage reductions in group contracts, especially in small- to medium-sized businesses. 80% of these contracts were reduced to 586 euros per month.
The study did not take into account unpaid overtime.
