Local newspaper trikalanews.gr states that a driver heading towards Trikala Gateway, northwestern Thessaly, opened the window and started flinging 50-euro notes out of the window! The 50-euro notes blowing over the Karavoporou River almost caused a traffic jam as surprised drivers swerved their cars and braked to a halt.

A similar incident had occured in May when a young student stole 2,000 euros and scattered these over the Lithaios River as an act of spite to his father!

The police are looking for the driver that threw the bills.
