“Solidarity comes in response to the reform efforts and responsibility”, says the German Chancellor

Just 10 days prior to January 25 elections in Greece, German Chancellor Angela Merkel once again reiterated her interest in seeing Greece remain in the euro.

In her interview to Allgemeine Zeitung, Ms. Merkel reportedly said: “I would like Greece to remain in the euro”. The whole interview is expected to be published on Friday.

“All my work in relation to the European crisis always aimed and still does, at strengthening the entire euro zone with all its members, including Greece,” added the German chancellor in the same interview.

Allegedly, in the article Ms. Merkel supports that “solidarity comes in response to the reform efforts and responsibility”, while she adds that “this principle continues to represent us in our cooperation with any Greek government.”
