Opinion Poll: Plurality still wants SYRIZA; majority wants euro

The poll took place on June 3 and 4 and included 1,000 people from around Greece

Alco’s poll on behalf of newsit.gr showed a further reduction between the Radical Left Coalition (SYRIZA) government and the New Democracy party in comparison to the previous poll. If elections were held today, the support for each party would be as follows:

Radical Left Coalition (SYRIZA) 31.4%

Conservative New Democracy (ND) 20.4%

Ultranationalist Golden Dawn (GD) 4.8%

Centrist To Potami 5.2%

Greek Communist Party (KKE) 4.5%

Right-wing, Anti-Austerity junior coalition partner Independent Greeks (ANEL) 3.2%

Socialist PASOK 3.5%

VOTE

45% of the citizens questioned would want the government to proceed with an agreement even if this meant that the SYRIZA would cross over the “red lines” it has set. 74% of Greek citizens support staying in the euro, 18% want Greece to have its own currency and 8% don’t know or wouldn’t answer.
