Opposition parties react on new social security system draft

The draft bill on social security system will be sent to the institutions in the afternoon via email

Labour Minister Giorgos Katrougalos had successive meetings with the political leaders and then with President of the Hellenic Republic Prokopis Pavlopoulos.

The draft bill on social security system will be sent to the institutions in the afternoon via email after Mr. Katrougalos’s meeting with Mr. Pavlopoulos.

Interim leader of New Democracy Giannis Plakiotakis stated that “The only thing Tsipras is looking for is consent to the wrong decision” adding that “ND’s positions are clear and have been repeatedly stated in parliament. We are against cuts in pensions and increase of the insurance contribution”.

Centrists Union leader Vassilis Leventis expressed his opposition over the government’s draft law for the social security after his meeting with Labour Minister George Katrougalos who briefed him on the government’s program.

Communist Party (KKE) secretary general Dimitris Koutsoumbas after his meeting with Katrougalos said that his party will fight in order the draft law to not pass in parliament.

Potami leader Stavros Theodorakis did not accept to meet with Labour Minister saying that “Katrougalos’ meetings are only for the photographers”. With a statement he said that “Potami is not willing to follow the government’s public relations program”.
