PM A. Tsipras schedule in Israel and Palestine

A full program for the Greek PM

Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras is in Israel and Palestine on Wednesday and Thursday for a number of high-level meetings. The PM’s itinerary includes a brief tour of the Holocaust Monument for a wreath-laying ceremony followed by a meeting with Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu. Both men will give a joint press conference and then meet alone. At 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Tsipras will meet with the leader of the Israeli main opposition Labor Party, Yitzhak Herzog, followed by the party’s youth group. At 6 p.m. he will meet a non-governmental organisation and have dinner with Israeli Minister of National Infrastructure, Energy and Water Resources Yuval Stenitz.

On Thursday morning at 10 a.m., Tsipras will meet with Israeli President Reuven Rivlin follwoed by a visit to a center run by Jerusalem’s Greek community and depart for Ramallah after noon, where he will lay a wreath at the Yasser Arafat Mausoleum at 12.50 p.m. Talks will follow between the Greek and Palestinian Authority delegations to begin at 1 p.m. in the presence of Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas and Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah. Tsipras and Abbas will meet and make statements to the Greek and Palestinian media.

A dinner in honor of the Greek prime minister will then be held at the presidential mansion.

Tsipras will depart for Jerusalem in the afternoon for a meeting with Jerusalem Patriarch Theophilos at 4.15 p.m. and visit the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. He will then return to Athens on Thursday night.
