PM Tsipras and ECB president Draghi agree on need to conclude program review as soon as possible

Mr. Draghi argued that the Greek government has made significant progress in fiscal reforms

Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras met with ECB president Mario Draghi at Davos on Friday and they both agreed that the first program review must be concluded as soon as possible.

They also discussed the course of the Greek program and the reforms needed.

Speaking earlier at a panel at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Mr. Draghi argued that the Greek government has made significant progress in fiscal reforms and noted that Greece is now in a much better situation than in June.

He also said he was optimistic that the first program review will be completed soon. However, he stressed that the social security reforms should be sustainable, while he warned that Greek banks still have a very high number of non-performing loans.
