Police arrested two ISIS suspects in Alexandroupolis

More than 20,000 bullets and dozens of weapons were found in the trailer of one of the suspects

Two ISIS suspects were arrested on Saturday afternoon by police authorities in Alexandroupolis.

The suspects are British citizens of Iraqi origin, aged 28 and 22, and were arrested after police found more than 20,000 bullets and dozens of weapons in the trailer of one of the suspects at Faros area, near the railway station of the city, as police sources told Associated Press.

One of the two suspects has been in Greece since the beginning of February and the second one arrived in the region on Friday.

According to alexpoli.gr, authorities arrested a third man, also of Iraqi origin on Saturday night, who was at a trailer outside the city limits and had bullets and weapons.

Police counterterrorist elements and National Intelligence Agency officers were scrambled to head for Alexandroupolis.
