“Reshuffle” of negotiations team sees Varoufakis off the main stage

He takes a supervisory role after the Riga debacle

Newsroom April 27 04:07

The government will proceed with an emergency reshuffle, after the recent Riga debacle. The above was decided during a meeting under PM Tsipras yesterday. The new negotiations team will be overseen by FinMin Varoufakis and run by E. Tsakalotos.

On that which concerns Mr. Varoufakis, the Prime Minister continues to support him, considering he has been “the target of planned foreign press negative publications”. The Finance Minister “moves within the framework of collective decisions and the government’s lines”, according to Maximos Mansion.

Despite the above, the government has appointed a new negotiations team.

-A new coordination team under General Secretary of the government, Spyros Sayas, to better support the technical teams in Athens.
