Robin Williams’ memorial service attended by family and famous friends

A memorial service was held on Saturday afternoon in San Francisco, USA, to pay tribute to late comedian Robin Williams, People magazine reports.

According to a source close to the family of the popular actor, who suffered from depression and committed suicide on August 11, the ceremony was held to honor “his love for his family and community, his brilliance and humor and his generous spirit.”

Present at the memorial were his widow Susan Schneider Williams and his children Zak, 31, Zelda, 25 and Cody, 22, as well as hundreds of relatives and friends, including Bette Midler, Jeff Bridges, Ben Stiller, George Lucas, Sarah Michelle Gellar and many others.

According to the same source, Williams’ close friend Billy Crystal hosted the ceremony and his good friends Whoopi Goldberg, Bobcat Goldthwait and Bonnie Hunt, along with his family spoke about the much-loved actor.
