Ronaldo faces criticism over his appearance in Israeli ad (vid)

Social media users criticized Ronaldo's participation in an advert for Israeli cable company HOT

Newsroom February 12 05:26

Football star Cristiano Ronaldo has faced criticism on social media after appearing in an advert for Israeli cable company HOT.

The ad shows three stars from a popular Israeli show, We’re On The Map, acting as footballers in a locker room. They praise the high-speed internet they experience on their tablets, while discussing rumours about a new foreign player who is going to join their team. And the player turns out to be Ronaldo.

Ronaldo posted the link to the ad on his twitter account and wrote: “There are rumours that I’m going to be a star in Israel. Not in soccer… in a HOT commercial.”
