Schaeuble: The winner of Greek elections must stay in the path of austerity

Mr. Schaeuble stated that whoever emerges as the winner of the upcoming election battle will have to stick to the same path.

Newsroom January 14 01:52

German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble sent a clear message to Greek political forces on Wednesday, in view of the general elections on January 25.

According to a Reuters report, Mr. Schaeuble stated that whoever emerges as the winner of the upcoming election battle will have to stick to a path of austerity.

Underlining that the basic conditions will remain unchanged in Greece, the German FinMin told N-24 television that whichever is the next government, it must see that Greece – with Europe’s help – will continue on the same path, making sure that the sacrifices of the people will not be squandered.
