FIFA decided to suspend both FIFA president Sepp Blatter and UEFA president Michel Platini due to corruption allegations.
All started when the Swiss attorney general, Michael Lauber, opened a criminal investigation on allegations according to which Blatter mis-sold a World Cup TV rights contract to the disgraced former FIFA official Jack Warner in 2006 and made a “disloyal payment” of £1.3m to Platini in 2011.
Both Blatter and Platini deny these allegations.
Platini had earlier released a statement saying that leak of his probable suspension is an attempt to damage his reputation adding: “I have always acted and expressed myself with honesty, courage and candour, as I feel that this is my moral duty.”
Suspended FIFA president Sepp Blatter was showered in fake dollar bills by British comedian Simon Brodkin I during press conference held in Zurich saying ‘this is for North Korea in 2026!’
