The largest solar catamaran in the world arrived at the port of Corinthos

The MS Turanor PlanetSolar arrived in our country in an archaeological mission on exploration and surveying of a prehistoric settlement in the Ermionidas

On Thursday the largest Catamaran in the world, driven exclusively by solar energy docked at the port of Corinthos in Greece. The MS Turanor PlanetSolar arrived in our country in an archaeological mission involving the exploration and surveying of a prehistoric settlement in the sea area of the Argolid Gulf and specifically in the area of Ermionidas.

This is a joint archaeological research conducted by the University of Geneva in collaboration with the Swiss School of Archaeology, the Greek Centre for Marine Research and the Department of Underwater Antiquities.

The solar boat with a Switzerland flag, will stay for the next three days at the port of Corinthos, and then it will be crossing the Isthmus headed for the bay of Argolis, where the research will take place. Then it will tie at the harbor of Nafplio and finally on Monday the 4th of August it will conclude its journey in Piraeus.

The official reception of the MS Turanor PlanetSolar in Corinthos will be held this Friday and its crew will tour a small group of visitors inside the solar boat.
