Turkish provocations in Aegean Sea continue

Turkish patrol boats violate Greek waters for over 2 hours

Turkish belligerence in the Aegean Sea does not seem to be waning, as Turkish patrol boats were constantly violating Greek waters near the island of Oinousses, Easter Monday. At 11 am Monday, two Turkish patrol boats were moving in and out of the Greek waters two days after the incident between Turkish patrol boats and a Greek fishing boat in the same area. Greek navy gunboat ‘Aititos’ contacted the crew of the Turkish patrol boats that they were in Greek waters requesting they leave the area. The Turkish crews ignored the warnings and continued to violate the waters for about two hours, before eventually leaving. Another Greek gunboat, ‘Krateos’, is also patrolling the same waters.
