British actress and activist Vanessa Redgrave is in Athens to be informed about the refugee crisis and visit refugee and migrant centers.

Redgrave, who has also organized charitable performances in London in order to raise money for refugees, visited the refugee camp in Eleonas, accompanied by Greece’s Deputy Immigration Minister Yiannis Mouzalas, Athens mayor Giorgos Kaminis and Greek actress Mimi Denissi.

On Wednesday, Redgrave will attend the play “My Favorite Smyrna” which presents the tragedy of Greek refugees from Smyrna and is staged by the Foundation of the Hellenic World, at the “Hellenic Cosmos” Cultural Center.
