Video shows human traffickers dropping off migrants on Lesvos (video)

24 Afghans reach the shores of Greek island

A video released by photojournalist Dimitris Michalakis shows how human traffickers smuggle migrants and refugees onto the Greek island of Lesvos. The footage reveals a speedboat from Turkey leaving the area of of Sykamia, on the island of Lesvos after dropping off a group of migrants. The vessel can be seen approaching an inaccessible, steep beach, where 24 Afghan migrants disembark and set foot on the beach. They then climb the slope of the mountain and reach the main road. Currently there are over 5,800 migrants and refugees on the island of Lesvos, which has a capacity of 3,500 in the officially designated hotspots.
