Weather: Showers mainly in the west and north of the country- A new wave of dust is coming from Tuesday

Winds up to 7 Beaufort in the Aegean Sea – Temperature rises from Monday – EMY’s forecast until Thursday

Local showers and sporadic thunderstorms are expected until the morning in the northeastern mainland and possibly in the northern Aegean, while later the phenomena will affect the rest of the northern and western mainland, the Ionian Sea and parts of northern and western Thessaly and Peloponnese. In the rest of the country there will be intermittent clouds.

The temperature in Western Macedonia will range from 4 to 16 degrees Celsius, in the rest of Macedonia and Thrace from 8 to 21, in Epirus from 6 to 18, in Thessaly from 8 to 22, in Western Sterea and Peloponnese from 10 to 19, in the rest of Sterea and Peloponnese from 5 to 23 degrees Celsius, in the Ionian Islands from 10 to 18, in the North and East Aegean Islands from 10 to 20, in the Cyclades from 14 to 20, in the Dodecanese from 11 to 19 and in Crete from 11 to 22 degrees Celsius.

The winds in the North Aegean will initially blow from the west 4 to 6 Beaufort but from the morning will become south 5 to 7 Beaufort and after the afternoon will shift again to west 4 to 6 Beaufort. In the Central Aegean Sea the winds will blow from southerly directions 3 to 5 Beaufort and from morning to afternoon 5 to 7 Beaufort. In the South Aegean Sea the winds will blow from south to southwest directions 3 to 5 Beaufort. In the Ionian Sea the winds will initially blow from southerly directions 3 to 5 Beaufort, from noon onwards they will shift to westerly winds of the same intensity and towards the evening they will blow from variable directions up to 3 Beaufort.

FORECAST FOR TOMORROW MONDAY 22-04-2024

Initially in the morning hours in northern Crete, the Cyclades, the Dodecanese and the Peloponnese, gradually at noon in the central and southern mainland and the eastern Aegean islands and from the afternoon in the western and northern hemisphere, clouds in places and at times increasing with local showers. In the evening the phenomena will be limited in the mainland.
Winds will blow from eastern directions 3 to 5 Beaufort, in the southern seas 6 to 7 and in the southern Aegean Sea locally up to 8 Beaufort.
Temperatures will rise slightly further, mainly in the east and south. It will reach 17 to 19 degrees Celsius in the north, 20 to 23 degrees Celsius in the rest of the mainland and 23 to 25 degrees Celsius in the eastern and southern islands.

FORECAST FOR TUESDAY 23-04-2024

In the west, central and north clouds are forecasted, partly cloudy with local rain and in the north and west mainland until early afternoon isolated thunderstorms. In the evening hours in the northwest the phenomena will intensify again with sporadic thunderstorms. In the rest of the country, thin clouds, occasionally denser.
African dust is favoured, mainly in the west and south.
Winds will blow east southeast 5 to 6 and locally in the sea 7 to 8 Beaufort. From the evening in the west it will turn into westerly 4 to 6 Beaufort and in the east into southerly south-easterly 6 to 8 Beaufort.
Temperatures will rise slightly further, mainly in the west and south.

FORECAST FOR WEDNESDAY 24-04-2024

In the west and the north clouds are forecasted, partly cloudy with local rain, in the northwest in the early morning hours isolated thunderstorms and gradual improvement.
In the rest of the country thin clouds, becoming thicker from midday mainly in Crete and the Dodecanese.
The transport of African dust is favoured.
Winds will blow in the west, west-northwest 4 to 6 Beaufort. In the east will blow from southerly directions 5 to 7 and locally in the southeastern Aegean Sea 8 Beaufort, gradually turning from the west to westerly 5 to 7 Beaufort.
The temperature will drop slightly in the northwest.
