Woman caught selling Greek strays abroad!

The Belgian woman had a thriving dog export business where she took dogs off the street and sold them to owners around Europe

A Belgium woman was found to be collecting strays in the village of Thesprotia and exporting them to owners abroad. The woman, in conjunction with veterinarians, had managed to get legal permits for the dogs and sold them to owners in Belgium and Germany for 500 euros per dog.

The woman had been arrested in Belgium in an attempt to transport dozens of dogs.

Services at the port of Igoumenitsa had also recently caught her and a relative trying to take ten stray dogs out of the country to Germany. She had raised suspicions, however the portside authorities had let her pass through as the travel permits for the animals were all authorized by a veterinarian.

The case file for the woman is now with the prosecutor of Thesprotia where the woman has made a deposition.
