Fifty Shades of Grey, made in Greece

The Greek American businesswoman who created the brand hopes to capitalize on the bestseller’s success

A Greek American businesswoman is exploiting the success of E.L. James’ bestseller “Fifty Shades of Grey” to create a series of cosmetics sealed with the approval of the book’s author. The four made-in-Greece products are already in stockhouses around Poland, the Czech Republic, Germany, Scandinavia (Finland, Sweden, Norwa) and Portugal and Malaysia. Negotiations are underway for their distribution in France, Italy and Turkey.

Elizabeth Meyer via Fortis Venustas bought the rights for use of the name around thirty countries. The products are produced 100% in Greece. The Greek products will no doubt benefit from the success of the novel and the book but are also bound to create their own niche on the international market.
