At least 19 people were killed and 18 were injured when a girl, aged around 10 years of age, exploded in a busy market, in northeastern Nigeria, according to the Police and the Red cross.

Asirou Mustafa, a militiaman, told AFP that the powerful explosion occurred in the market at around 13:40, and while the market was full of people and vendors. He added that the girl was “aged about 10 years old”.
