PM Tsipras’ overhasty announcements before farmers driving to Athens

He said the government is open to discuss with the farmers, but he did not submit any specific proposal

Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras stated on Wednesday during a cabinet meeting that the government is open to discuss with the farmers, but he did not submit any specific proposal, while his announcements on social security contributions have already been rejected by the farmers.

Mr. Tsipras referred to hotspot issue reiterating that “they will be ready by next week,”.

He confirmed that Greece will meet its commitments for the creation of refugees reception centres by next week underling that “We are waiting from the creditors to do the same, because agreements cannot be “a la carte”.

The prime minister also referred to early elections saying “We will complete clearly the mandate that Greek people gave us three times in the last year” and “we re-elected just four months ago with a clear mandate. To implement an agreement but also to hold fast to our “red lines” protecting the weakest citizens”.
