2-month-old baby refugee pronounced dead, another sacrifice to the god of inhumanity

How many more innocent babies, toddlers, children will die in the dangerous crossing?

Saturday dawn. A dingy transferring refugees crashed onto a rock at the coast of Agathonisi. A two-month-old baby swallowed water and could not be resuscitated by its parents. It lay in a critical condition for hours as the isolated island has no doctor. Despite efforts, the baby could not be transfered to the hospital at Samos in time to be rescued. It died as soon as it reached the hospital of Samos. Doctors say precious time was lost before the newborn was pronounced dead.

Unlike Aylan Kurdi there was no photographer at hand to document his tiny lifeless body.
