The explosion occurred at 2:10 in the morning of Maundy Thursday in Agios Loukas, at Kavalas. The target was the car of the wife of Deputy Speaker of Greek Parliamnet, Giorgos Kalantzis.

According to proininews.gr, the car explosion was caused by a stove placed by strangers at the back of the vehicle. The car was parked in front of the MP.

The explosion caused considerable damages to the car.
