The thirst of traffickers to multiply their profits by exploiting the human desire for a better life was one of the main causes of maritime tragedy off the coast of Samos.
These people invest in the hope of people who will not count on safety rules before the prospect of being, even as illegal immigrants, in another country believing that they will find a better life there. They traffickers decided to make the criminal decision to embark 60 people on a vessel that can safely carry up to 15.
