Tonight is the first Eurovision semifinal and participating countries are preparing to give their best.

A few hours before the contest was held in Copenhagen, though, a gas canister in a nearby canteen, which was a short distance outside the hall, exploded.

According to Danish police, the man working at the canteen at the time was injured and taken to hospital with burns.

At the time of the explosion, the French team was rehearsing and a few minutes later the area was evacuated.

According, again, to the Danish police, this incident is in no way associated with tonight’s Eurovision semi-final.
