The amounts of the first tranche of the refund of excise duties on oil, worth about 53 million euros, will be credited today to the accounts of beneficiaries, after the completion of processing and data cross-checking between the Ministries of Agriculture and Finance was finalized.
As the announcement of the Ministry of Agriculture states, the amounts will be available to around 385000 accounts of beneficiaries from Friday afternoon, while the beneficiaries will be updated directly from the website of OPEKEPE (www.opekepe.gr) for the payment of the amount of the first installment.
The payment of any beneficiary’s refund, will be based on digitized data of farm sizes and the number of animals declared by the beneficiaries.
In its declaration, the Minister of Agriculture Athanasios Tsaftaris said that “we are trying, in every way, to facilitate the productive work of farmers, enhancing their liquidity in this difficult economic climate and the tight financial framework within which we can move. With the payment of the refund we are trying to alleviate production costs and especially the energy costs of farms. I want to assure Greek producers that we are with them day by day to combat the major problems concerning the cost of production and especially the high cost of energy. Our efforts will continue in this direction”.
