Public employees will strictly be able to have 120 maximum hours of overtime every six months, according to the decision of the Ministry of Finance.
For reasons of flexibility of labor, depending on the circumstances and requirements of each service, the number of overtime will be calculated every six months so that if an employee exceeds 120 hours in the first semester, then they can equally be removed from the second semester. In no case, however, can the overtime exceed a total of 250 hours a year.
It also provides that employees who belong to the public services that operate based on the law all days of the month on a twelve-hour or twenty-four-hour basis, the number of excess of statutory weekly working hours overnight, Sundays and official holidays cannot be more than 96 hours during the first semester, and another 96 during the second semester (which might later be raised to 120).
