The Turkish Supreme Court has ruled on the YouTube ban that Tayyip Erdogan imposed on Turkish citizens.
According to preliminary information, this motion was declared unconstitutional and should immediately be lifted.
The Court has ruled that the ban violates users’ rights and freedom of speech.
This decision follows in the wake of the Twitter ban, which was also declared unconstitutional on April 2nd.
Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan had decided to ban YouTube access for Turkish citizens in late March.
The ban was decided upon, after a “leaked” YouTube video of a sound file from a supposed meeting of the National Security Council of Turkey, in which PM Erdogan, President Abdullah Gül and Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu were attending.
