Over 1,800 exhibitors from 93 countries and 19,000 visitors are taking part at the international shipping exhibition Posidonia 2014, while there is a big range of conferences and seminars in order, more enriched compared to the 2012 report.
Among other, the Prime Minister stressed in his speech, that :
“The history and our culture is colored blue. The country is recovering from a serious crisis” , he stressed in his speech, adding that ” In tourism last year we did a record of 18 million tourists , this year we will have a new record with 20 million tourists. The Posidonia this year broke the record of investments with 93 countries participating in the exhibition . This means that the commercial power of Greece strengthens . We are the most stable country in a volatile region . We are trading portal for the European market . We want investments relating to shipbuilding , energy , etc ” .
And he continued,
“Today, Greece offers economic opportunities. We are in the proper time and place to discuss investment plans. We need hard work and political stability. We have managed to change the picture of Greece over the last three years and our slogan always remains the same.”We are Changing the country, we always look forward, “.

The Minister of Shipping, Miltiadis Varvitsiotis, stressed, that Greece has returned for good in the markets, and that has a lot to learn from shipping.

The president of the Union of Greek Shipowners, Theo Veniamis, stated to be proud of the Greek shipping which is first in the European Union as well as worldwide, offering quality and reliability. He also stated that “Shipping has to be the central vision of the European Union, due to its importance for development and entrepreneurship. Finally he thanked the Greek Prime Minister on behalf of the shipping industry, for his personal interest.
