The leadership of Golden Dawn attempted to prevent the political balance that government tries to achieve during the discussion on the waiver of their immunity.
Mr Nikos Michaloliakos and Christos Pappas, leader of the Golden Dawn and member of the Golden Dawn respectively, claimed that they had “secret meetings” with top government officials but they did not reveal the content of the talks. The general secretary of the GD argued that not only Mr. Takis Baltakos had close relations with members of his own party, but also Mr. Giorgos Mouroutis, director of the press office of Maximos Mansion and another two ministers of New Democracy without naming them.
Mr. Pappas did not hesitate to use even random encounters with government officials in the toilets of the Parliament in order to strengthen the suspicions that the leader of GD had previously claimed. This is seen as a last attempt to damage the government with dangerous rumours about secret meetings between government officials and the Golden Dawn.
He also referred to discussions he allegedly had with the Minister of Health, Adonis Georgiadis. “It was written in the newspapers, too. You would obviously like to watch a video proof. If you want, believe me. I will convey the exact words. He said: “I prefer my son at 16 years old to be a supporter of Golden Dawn than a supporter of SYRIZA or Greek Communist Party” he said and continued: “And he added in secret, in the toilets, in the hallway: “We have to talk” “You are reasonable.” And of course, we never talked. That’s why I’m in prison. Because, we’ve never talked. Because we did not worship them,”.
He also talked about Mr. Panos Panagiotopoulos saying that when he was Defence Minister he said to a common friend about him “He is very good. We have to take him with our side,”
Mr Papas lashed out at others MPs, too such as Mr Meimarakis and the president Markogiannakis.
